FSU Hosts Exciting Showcase to Highlight Creative Teaching Methods that Inspire Student Success

Florida State University recently invited educators and teaching assistants from across the campus to the second annual Provost’s Showcase of Scholarly Teaching. Organized by the Center for the Advancement of Teaching (CAT) in conjunction with FSU Libraries, this event honored the creative and evidence-based teaching methodologies that continue to position FSU at the forefront of student-focused education.

Building upon the triumph of last year’s inaugural event, the 2025 showcase emphasized the contributions of FSU’s teaching community, renewing focus on fostering student achievement and enriching students’ learning encounters both in physical classrooms and online environments.

“The showcase presents a vital chance to share and recognize the remarkable work being done by FSU faculty in their instruction,” stated Leslie Richardson, director of the CAT. “I genuinely appreciate their scholarly methods, as they collect data on the effectiveness of their techniques, seek feedback, and implement changes — and I believe that the collaborative spirit of teaching here is equally significant. Faculty members are sharing their approaches, discussing what is effective, what they aspire to modify, and what they genuinely wish to accomplish, allowing all of us to grow collectively and formulate the finest learning experiences for our students. It’s incredibly motivating.”
