surge-in-scans-for-juniper-“t128”-default-user,-(wed,-apr-2nd)

Last week, I observed an increase in attempts for the username “t128”. This username, paired with the password “128tRoutes,” is a widely recognized default account for Juniper’s Session Smart Networking Platform (or “SSR” for “Session Smart Routing”). The username and password are somewhat “unusual”. Juniper purchased a company named “128 Technologies” a few years back, and with this acquisition, incorporated SSR into its product lineup. However, much of the product, including the standard usernames and passwords, remained intact. The documentation, which includes the standard username and passwords, is still available at 128technology.com [1].
