Cybersecurity analysts have unveiled an “auto-spreading” cryptocurrency mining botnet referred to as Outlaw (also known as Dota), which is recognized for exploiting SSH servers that possess weak passwords.
“Outlaw is a Linux-based malware that uses SSH brute-force assaults, cryptocurrency mining, and worm-like spreading techniques to compromise and retain dominance over systems,” Elastic Security Labs stated in a recent assessment.
