Benjamin Beilman stands out as one of the foremost violinists of his era, earning acclaim worldwide for his impassioned performances and deep, resonant tone, which the Washington Post described as “extraordinarily remarkable.”

He debuted at UGA with a recital in 2014 and continues to lead an active and distinguished career—most recently touring across the United States with the Berlin Philharmonic. On March 30 at 3 p.m., he will perform at Ramsey Concert Hall together with pianist Gloria Chien.
Beilman has collaborated with prominent orchestras such as the Philadelphia Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic, and Zurich Tonhalle, and serves on the faculty of the Curtis Institute of Music. He is committed to modern compositions, presenting new pieces by Frederic Rzewski, Gabriella Smith, and Jennifer Higdon, among others. He plays on the 1740 “Ysaÿe” Guarneri del Gesù, lent by the Nippon Music Foundation.
The Taiwanese-born pianist Gloria Chien practices a multifaceted musical career as a prominent performer, concert organizer, and educator. She debuted with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at the age of 16 under Thomas Dausgaard and later performed again with the BSO, alongside Keith Lockhart. She has previously appeared at the UGA Performing Arts Center on two occasions, collaborating with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and with Anthony McGill.
This upcoming performance takes the place of the previously scheduled concert by the Tetzlaff Quartet and receives support from John A. Maltese.
