The Middle East and North Africa have turned into the focus of a recent initiative that spreads an altered variant of a familiar malware known as AsyncRAT, starting from September 2024.
“The initiative, which utilizes social media for malware dissemination, is linked to the existing geopolitical situation in the area,” noted Positive Technologies analysts Klimentiy Galkin and Stanislav Pyzhov in a report released last week.
