
Lawrence E. Thomas, a member of the Board of Trustees at Washington University in St. Louis and an alumnus of Olin Business School, was recognized with a lifetime achievement accolade by the St. Louis American Foundation at the 23rd Annual Salute to Excellence in Business Awards, which took place on Feb. 20 at the Ritz-Carlton in St. Louis.
This year, Thomas received the honor of “Lifetime Achiever in Business.” After completing a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1977, he dedicated over four decades to working at Edward Jones before his retirement in 2021.
At WashU, he has been involved as co-chair of the Make Way initiative; a trustee; a leader of the national Black Alumni Council; former president of the Olin Alumni Association Executive Committee; past chair of the Alumni Board of Governors; and is a member of Olin’s National Council. Additionally, Thomas has contributed to the boards of various other organizations in St. Louis. His commitment to serving and guiding others has earned him multiple accolades from both the university and other entities.
