The Troubadour Festival, an alfresco occasion that fuses Texas barbecue and music, is poised to return to Aggie Park on the Texas A&M University grounds on May 17.

Shane Smith & the Saints will headline the primary entertainment for the third edition of the Troubadour Festival, returning to Aggie Park on the Texas A&M University campus on May 17.

Initially held at Aggie Park in 2023, the Troubadour Festival unites premier country music talents with Texas’s finest barbecue, establishing itself as the state’s leading barbecue and live country music festival.

This year’s artist lineup features Texas country icons Randy Rogers and Wade Bowen, 49 Winchester, Josh Meloy, and Hudson Westbrook. Shane Smith & the Saints will headline the event, complemented by performances from Tyler Halverson, Jacob Stelly, and JoJo DiSalvo.

This year’s Troubadour Festival in Aggie Park will showcase smoked meats from 25 of the state’s most esteemed barbecue establishments and pitmasters.

“We believe this is our finest Aggieland lineup to date and are excited to greet thousands of new and returning fans of Texas barbecue and country music to the venue,” remarked Chase Colston, festival organizer and co-owner of Double Tap Entertainment, which hosts the event, in a press release unveiling the lineup.

Festivalgoers can savor smoked meats from 25 of the state’s most renowned barbecue restaurants and pitmasters while enjoying the music. Fifteen of the participating establishments were highlighted on Texas Monthly’s 2021 list of Top 50 BBQ Joints, with five more receiving honorable mentions. Three were acknowledged in the magazine’s 2023 Top 25 Best New & Improved BBQ Joints in Texas.

Prominent participants include InterStellar BBQ, recently awarded a Michelin Star, alongside Blood Bros. BBQ and Tejas Chocolate & BBQ, both of which have attained Bib Gourmand recognition.

This year, the event is introducing “Meat Church & Friends: A Live Fire Experience,” brought to you by 44 Farms. Meat Church BBQ pitmaster and CEO Matt Pittman will collaborate with four other Texas pitmasters to showcase live fire cooking techniques, offering attendees the chance to sample various dishes.

The festival is providing a limited number of discounted tickets for students, active and retired military personnel, first responders, and educators who present a valid ID.
