At Examity, we continuously strive to enhance our platform to ensure a more seamless and secure testing experience, catering to all our users. Hence, we are thrilled to unveil our latest product upgrade for our proctored examinations: the Waiting Room.

Located after screen sharing and prior to accessing the test interface, the Waiting Room serves as a secure area for the test-taker to wait for their proctor. During this short interval, test-takers receive information regarding the anticipated wait duration and any updates about their appointment. Exam materials remain protected as access is restricted until the proctor has connected.

We designed the Waiting Room to improve:

• Examination security

The Waiting Room ensures that the test-taker cannot log onto the testing platform without a proctor in attendance. Once the test-taker has completed the verification process with their proctor, they will then be guided to the exam page by the proctor.

• Communication

This Waiting Room ensures clear communication with the test-taker regarding what is anticipated from them and the subsequent steps in the exam process.

•  Adaptability

The Waiting Room accommodates more versatile exam setups and formats, such as exams using Secure Browser or traditional paper and pencil assessments.

We established the Waiting Room to additionally foster a positive testing experience, which remains a top priority for Examity. This feature enhances the testing experience by:

• Offering an opportunity to better understand the Examity platform

Test-takers will be provided with a tutorial on navigating the Examity sidebar, therefore allowing them more time to familiarize themselves with its features prior to their exam.

• Preparing them for the examination process

The Waiting Room informs the test-taker regarding which exam they are undertaking, the exam’s length, and what to anticipate during the examination process. 

• Lessening test-taker stress

By effectively communicating to the test-taker what actions are required and what additional steps may be necessary for their exam, the Waiting Room aids in alleviating test-taker stress.

While in the Waiting Room, test-takers will view a range of important information, including:

• The exam appointment ID
• The expected wait time for proctor arrival
• The specifics of the exam, including its name and length
• Informative content that shares essential contextual information that the test-taker will require, and prepares them for potential additional security measures their proctor may ask of them
