The total registration has risen across all three University of Washington locations for the 2025-26 academic term, as per the yearly census report disclosed this month.

Annually, the UW performs an official registration tally following the commencement of the fall term. The overall quantity of students across all three campuses stands at 63,727.

Registration rose by 1.1% to 52,316 at the UW’s Seattle campus, an increase from 51,719 in 2024. Total enrollment at UW Bothell surged to 6,361 students, which is a 4.7% rise from 2024. UW Tacoma’s enrollment grew to 5,059, reflecting a 1.6% uptick over the previous year.

This year’s entering cohort comprised a total of 12,126 first-year and transfer students enrolled across all three campuses, including 7,129 first-year students at UW in Seattle, 1,157 at UW Bothell, and 737 at UW Tacoma.

There are 1,685 new transfer students at UW in Seattle, 649 at UW Bothell, and 769 at UW Tacoma. Transfer students encompass those coming from community colleges in Washington and other regions, in addition to other four-year institutions.

Residents of Washington constitute 74.1% of the incoming cohort across all three campuses, a figure consistent with previous years. Of these students, 5,875 of the new first-year and transfer students at UW in Seattle are residents of Washington. At UW Bothell, 1,709 new first-year and transfer students are from Washington. UW Tacoma includes 1,403 Washington residents among its incoming students.

The count of Washington community college transfer students entering UW across all campuses this autumn was 2,517, reflecting increases at all three locations: 1,399 in Seattle, 505 in Bothell, and 613 in Tacoma.

There are 7,893 international students registered across the three campuses, representing an approximate 7% decline from the prior year. Among these students, 7,439 are based in Seattle, 258 at UW Bothell, and 197 at UW Tacoma. This decrease aligns with trends observed nationally this year.

Among the 63,727 registered students across all three campuses, 46,079 are undergraduates, while 17,648 are pursuing either graduate or professional degrees.

The registration tally—a snapshot at a certain moment—will subsequently be reported to the UW Board of Regents.
