I’m thrilled to announce that Coursera is unveiling an application in ChatGPT, revealed today at OpenAI’s DevDay. This collaboration signifies the inaugural instance an online learning platform has been introduced as an application on ChatGPT — enhancing access to reliable, top-tier educational material like never before.

Each week, over 800 million individuals utilize ChatGPT, with one of the primary applications being education. Now, these individuals will have the capability to access pertinent Coursera videos and resources during ChatGPT discussions, making educational content more easily discoverable and transforming casual conversations into vibrant, interactive learning opportunities.

Coursera’s new application in ChatGPT, constructed on OpenAI’s Apps SDK, will deliver premium courses from leading educators globally into the stream of inquiries and exercises, aiding learners in advancing from curiosity to qualifications more swiftly and with enhanced confidence.

To utilize the Coursera app in ChatGPT:

• Users can initiate a ChatGPT dialogue with “Coursera”, for example, “Coursera, can I study data analytics?”
• ChatGPT may also recommend the Coursera app when it recognizes that Coursera content could enhance the conversation. 
  • For instance, if you’re discussing acquiring a specific skill, ChatGPT can highlight the Coursera app as a recommendation so you can view a lesson to learn further.
