Nominations have been launched for the 2026 President’s Fulfilling the Dream Award.
This accolade honors individuals within the University of Georgia and Athens-Clarke County areas who strive to transform Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision of equality and justice into a reality.
Honorees of the President’s Fulfilling the Dream Award will be celebrated at the yearly Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Breakfast on Jan. 16, 2026.
Award recipients exhibit dedication to volunteer efforts and civic involvement in tackling significant community challenges, employ Dr. King’s principles to alleviate tensions, settle disputes, and nurture goodwill, while applying his teachings to create connections of understanding and unity.

The MLK Freedom Breakfast, sponsored by UGA, the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government, and the Clarke County School District, honors Dr. King’s life and contributions.
