Since its inception in the summer, the Inclusive Excellence Advisory Committee (IEAC) has been diligently working to create guidance that will aid WashU in enhancing its dedication to diversity and inclusion.
The committee has already commenced by examining Washington University in St. Louis’ mission, objectives, and aspirations to set a solid groundwork for how WashU articulates and exemplifies these commitments.
From this point, the committee will propose systems, frameworks, and resources that facilitate practical methods for students, faculty, and staff to engage with the university’s values in accordance with civil rights legislation. Some suggestions will expand on current initiatives already in progress, while others may introduce innovative strategies to bolster the university’s efforts.
The committee is co-led by Eva Aagaard, MD, vice chancellor and senior associate dean for education and the Carol B. and Jerome T. Loeb Professor of Medical Education, and Sean Armstrong, dean of the School of Continuing & Professional Studies.
The committee will provide updates as its efforts evolve. The IEAC encourages your thoughts and inquiries at [email protected].
