Cybersecurity analysts are highlighting a recent transformation in the Android malware scene, where dropper applications, often utilized to deploy banking trojans, are now also being used to spread more straightforward malware like SMS stealers and basic spyware.
These operations are disseminated through dropper applications pretending to be government or banking apps in India and various regions of Asia, ThreatFabric noted in a report.
