Amazon on Friday announced that it identified and thwarted what it termed as a calculated watering hole operation conducted by the Russia-associated APT29 group in their intelligence collection activities.
The operation utilized “compromised sites to redirect visitors to harmful infrastructure intended to deceive users into permitting devices controlled by the attackers via Microsoft’s device code.
