This summer, students from Florida State University engaged in esteemed academic programs at the University of Oxford in England, upholding FSU’s legacy of international outreach and multidisciplinary education.

Honors students at the Oxford Consortium for Human Rights

A total of eight scholars from the FSU Honors Program participated in the Oxford Consortium for Human Rights workshop, collaborating with colleagues from various nations to delve into the subject “Human Rights and New Technology.” This represented the fourth successive year that FSU has dispatched students to the Consortium, with this year’s cohort being the most substantial to date.

The workshop, held from July 6-12, centered on technology’s role in contemporary society and examined the pressing, thrilling, and alarming matters regarding evolving technological frameworks and their impact on daily existence.

During the week, students participated in dialogues concerning the ethical and societal repercussions of forthcoming technologies.
