Florida State University Celebrates 43 Exceptional Graduates with Honors Medallions for Summer 2025

The Florida State University Honors Program fosters the endeavors and abilities of some of the university’s most intellectually inquisitive students who possess the potential, commitment, and ambition for initiating change. The Medallion Ceremony occurred on July 31 in the Nancy H. Marcus Great Hall.

The event featured speeches by Associate Dean of Honors, Scholars, and Fellows D. Craig Filar; Outstanding Senior Scholar Graduate Kenneth Bevan III; and Vice President for Student Academic Success and Dean of Undergraduate Studies Joe O’Shea.

The distribution of the honors recipients is as follows:

26 Graduates, University Honors Program

Finished the University Honors Program, acquiring a minimum of 18 Honors points to meet the FSU Honors Program criteria.

12 Graduates, Honors in the Major Program

Finalized an Honors thesis to satisfy the requirement for the designation “with Honors” in their primary department.

5 Graduates, Outstanding Senior Scholar

Successfully completed both the University Honors Program and the Honors in the Major Program, maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher.
