Alumna and author Vivian Gibson examines “Held in Absence,” by Maya Dabney, for the first time during the University City Public Art Series opening on April 6 at Janet Majerus Park. Gibson’s memoir, “The Last Children of Mill Creek,” inspired Dabney’s work, detailing the story of Gibson’s family who resided in the Millcreek Valley, a neighborhood destroyed in 1959 to construct a highway.
